Sr. Database Developer
Description:
This position will be responsible for providing support for production, development and test database systems for our core business software. It will involve the development of software and processes that will integrate different computer systems and/or processes used by the company. It will also include the design of databases, tables, etc. This position needs to be able to learn the needs of business along with the technical tools to achieve the department’s goals. In general, the SQL development will consist of implementing the features of SQL Server 2005, in addition to the latest features of SQL Server 2008. Candidate should possess B.S. (or equivalent) and 5+ years of in-depth experience in design and development of databases and multi-tiered applications.
Requirements:
Technical Skills:
- 3+ years experience with SQL Server. Experience with SQL Server 2005 a big plus. Specific skills required include strong Transact-SQL (T-SQL) knowledge, stored procedures and DTS/SSIS development.
- Familiarity with logical and physical data modeling and design (ERD, table design, data partitioning, data security).
- Demonstrated experience in database monitoring and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of business intelligence/data warehousing practices and tools (including MS SQL Reporting Services).
- Knowledge of both Entity Relational Models and Dimensional Models, understanding Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) tools and their use.
- Understanding of process mapping, flowcharting.
- Knowledge of QA practices.

- Background in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
- Familiarity with the Service Broker functionality of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (or later).
- 1+ years of DBA experience.
- Experience in column-oriented database or alternate architectures.
- Experience with very large databases (VLDB).
- Experience in GIS and property-centric data.
